Recently, the "Talyp Gözeli" (Student Beauty) contest was held at the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory to select the most beautiful female student. Four female students, one from each of the four departments, participated as candidates for the title of winner. But what does it mean to be a "student beauty"? First and foremost, it signifies the candidate's physical appearance and charm, as well as her talent in her chosen profession, and her skills in applied arts and cooking.
In the first round of the contest, titled "Praising the Motherland and Hero Arkadag through your profession," Bagul Dowletmyradowa, a first-year student of the Department of Folk Musical Instruments, took the lead. She gained the opportunity to move ahead by receiving higher marks than her opponents for performing music on the dutar and singing. However, the other girls did not lose heart, as there were still two rounds to go.
Turkmen national embroidery is the pride of our people. The second round of the contest showcased the girls' skills in working with needle and thread. Since a complete product cannot be prepared in a short time, they were assigned to perform a small section of embroidery in the "yaka" (collar) style. Lachyn Atayewa, a second-year student of the Department of Composition, Music Theory, and Piano, became the winner of this round.
The final and decisive round was ahead. What kind of beauty would a girl be if she didn't know how to prepare unash (noodle soup)? Thus, the candidates for the title of "Talyp Gözeli – 2026" began rolling out dough. Their work was closely observed not only by the judges but also by their classmates. A tense atmosphere filled the small hall of the higher education institution. Everyone was curious about one question: "On whose side will luck be this time?". Luck was once again on Bagul Dowletmyradowa's side—she completed the task faster and with higher quality.
The jury panel—Gulshirin Otuzowa, senior lecturer of the Department of Social Sciences; Maysa Mammetjumayewa, head of the Department of Variety Arts; and Maral Nuryyewa, head of the library—reached the following conclusion: Bagul Dowletmyradowa was found worthy of the title "Talyp Gözeli – 2026" of this higher education institution.
"Being worthy of this title is a great honor for me. This event is a wonderful gift for myself, my parents, and our department. Ahead is the national 'Talyp Gözeli – 2026' contest to be held among the country's universities. Of course, I want to win there as well and bring even more pride to the students of our conservatory," said Bagul, sharing her joy.
