World Cup winner and two-time European champion Sergio Ramos has reached a preliminary agreement to acquire Spanish football club Sevilla, according to Spanish radio station Cadena SER.
The deal is being pursued in partnership with investment firm Five Eleven Capital, with the total valuation of the club estimated at €450 million. The next stage of the process will involve a detailed review of Sevilla’s financial statements.
Now 39, Ramos is a product of Sevilla’s academy and maintains deep ties to the club. He played for Sevilla’s first team during the 2004–05 season and later returned for the 2023–24 campaign. His most successful years came at Real Madrid, where he won five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies. Ramos also secured two Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain.
On the international stage, Ramos was a key figure in Spain’s golden era, winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
Sevilla are currently 11th in La Liga, having collected 24 points from 21 matches this season.
If completed, the acquisition would mark a significant shift for the Andalusian club and signal Ramos’s transition from elite player to football executive and investor.
