Slavko Vincic appointed referee for the 2026 World Cup Final

On July 17, FIFA officially announced that Slavko Vincic will be the man in the middle for the 2026 World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium. Vincic will be joined by fellow Slovenians Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic as his assistants. This appointment makes Vincic the first Slovenian official to ever referee a World Cup final. The 46-year-old brings extensive experience, having notably officiated the 2024 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
