Turkmen designers and national brands are demonstrating their capabilities on the international fashion scene. Creative collections by the Turkmen brands Desert Heritage, Binaym, Mukaddes and AyMahri were presented at Who’s Next, one of the major international fashion exhibitions held in Paris.
The participation of Turkmen producers in the international exhibition was organized within the framework of the “Turkmenistan: Trade Sustainability and Integration” project, implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC) with financial support from the European Union.
The national exhibition section of Turkmenistan, established in Paris, generated considerable interest among fashion industry professionals. Products created by Turkmen designers from natural fabrics, combining national motifs with modern cuts, attracted the attention of representatives from Italy, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Greece, Zambia and Armenia.
During the exhibition, foreign buyers expressed interest in products from Turkmen brands. In particular, opportunities for establishing future commercial cooperation were discussed with representatives of Italian companies.
Representatives of Turkmenistan’s textile industry and entrepreneurs not only participated in the exhibition but also actively took part in the business programme held in Paris. They visited Texworld and Première Vision, two of the world’s leading fashion and textile exhibitions, where they became familiar with current trends in the European market.
Turkmen specialists also studied methods of displaying products in boutiques and major shopping centres in Paris and received information about new environmentally friendly materials and modern technologies used in textile production.
The visit was of practical importance for Turkmen entrepreneurs in terms of entering the European market, finding new partners and expanding the export potential of their products.
It is noted that the private company “AK Aýna” operates the Aýna Denim brand with a full production cycle. According to the company’s director, Merdan Hudaýberdiýew, the visit to Paris provided valuable experience in finding new partners and buyers, as well as gaining a better understanding of the requirements of the European retail market.
The presentation of Turkmen brands at international fashion platforms creates opportunities to strengthen the position of national textile products on the global market and expand exports of products manufactured under the “Made in Turkmenistan” label.
Such initiatives also contribute to the integration of Turkmen small and medium-sized enterprises into international supply chains and to the broader promotion of national fashion abroad.
