Leaseholders of the "Tallymerjen" livestock farm in the Dovletli district are working diligently these days to successfully complete the lambing season. Recently, we set off for the Kyzylkum pastures to get a closer look at the achievements of the farm's livestock breeders during this season. As we observed the green-covered hills, our guide — Jorabay Charyyev, the head of the farm's livestock department — spoke proudly of the noble labor of the breeders and their annual successes:
— Our farm has 39,702 head of livestock. They are leased to 126 experienced shepherds. Hoshgeldi Nepiyev, Perhat Jumanyyazov, Babageldi Eyeberdiyev, Agajan Hydyrow, and others provide an exemplary model for their colleagues by achieving high yields every year. This year's results are also very good. We were among the first livestock farms in our province to honorably fulfill our plan for receiving lambs. To be precise, from every 100 out of 20,000 ewes, we received 100 lambs instead of the planned 95. The lambing process is still ongoing. Our goal for the current year is even higher; we expect 110 lambs from every 100 ewes. Spring has arrived well, with sufficient rain leading to lush green pastures. Our leaseholder shepherds are maintaining their dedicated care for the animals.
Listening to Jorabay aga's interesting stories, we reached the spring pasture called "Supaly," located 45 kilometers from the district center, without even noticing the distance. Here, we were greeted with smiles by father and son, Hoshgeldi and Methun Nepiyev. As a family, they manage two flocks of sheep. These master shepherds were the first in the farm to exceed their contractual obligations for lamb production. Their satisfaction with the season's results is clearly visible on their faces.
Hoshgeldi aga, looking proudly at the grazing sheep, said: — We have continued the profession of shepherding for generations. I have been involved in sheep breeding — one of the "seven treasures" — for 30 years. By providing good care, we achieve high productivity every year. This year, we have already received 108 lambs from every 100 ewes, exceeding our contractual obligations.
Indeed, the number of lambs frolicking on the green hills is increasing steadily. This indicates that the total number of livestock will grow even further by the end of the season.
