The first summit in the "Central Asia – Azerbaijan" format will be held in Turkmenistan on October 8. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated this at the informal meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries held in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the President of Turkmenistan, the draft agenda for the first summit has already been prepared and sent to all participating states of this format.

Our esteemed President stated that five main areas of cooperation have been included in the draft agenda.

"We have prepared the draft agenda and sent it to the participating states. It outlines five main areas of cooperation. They are: exchange of views on current regional and international issues related to peace, stability, and security; strengthening political and diplomatic cooperation between the Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan; developing cooperation in energy, sustainable transport, and logistics corridors; coordinating efforts on environmental protection, climate change adaptation, rational use of water resources, and the restoration of the Aral Sea; as well as developing cultural, educational, and scientific relations, and expanding student and youth exchanges," the President of Turkmenistan said.
