In order to increase the efficiency of Turkmenistan's international transport corridors, construction work on upgrading the «Sarahs highways» customs post, located on the Turkmen-Iranian border, has been successfully completed. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service.

Main Directions of Modernization

  • Renovation of Facilities: Large-scale renovation work was carried out on the buildings and structures within the post's territory, creating modern conditions for passengers and freight carriers.

  • Digital Management System: A digital system has been introduced to monitor and record the movement of transport and goods. This significantly reduces border crossing time and increases accounting reliability.

  • Cross-Border Significance: The renovation of this customs post, located at the intersection of several important international transport routes, is of great importance in developing the logistics capabilities of our country.

Phased modernization work of border checkpoints continues in our country. In order to increase customer service capacity, the «Garabogaz» and «Artyk» customs posts have also been renewed and put into operation since the beginning of this year.
