
The Asian Boxing Championship, held under the auspices of the World Boxing organization in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, was full of successful moments for Turkmen athletes. Dovlet Islamov, a member of the national team of Turkmenistan, managed to win a bronze medal in this prestigious competition.
A total of 194 athletes (115 men and 79 women) from various parts of the Asian continent participated in the championship, which lasted from March 30 to April 10. The competitions took place in 20 weight categories in an intense and competitive atmosphere.
In the semi-final stage, Dovlet Islamov faced a strong Kazakh boxer, Aybek Oralbay. The hard-fought match ended with a score of 0:5 in favor of the Kazakh athlete. Nevertheless, the opponent highly praised Dovlet Islamov's preparation and skill.
Aybek Oralbay said in an interview after the fight:
"Dovlet and I have known each other for a long time; we trained together at the training camps in Shymkent. Today, he proved that he is in very good sporting shape. There are no weak athletes in this championship, and Dovlet was one of the strongest competitors."
This bronze medal is a clear indicator of the increasing excellence of the Turkmen boxing school at the international level. Entering the top four at the Asian Championship will go down in history as one of the important achievements in Dovlet Islamov's sporting career.
