
At a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov, and the Director General of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Amran Ahmad, issues related to developing cooperation between the customs services of the two states were discussed.
The parties emphasized the need to intensify the exchange of experience in the customs sphere, which is an important component of trade and economic relations. The Turkmen side proposed accelerating work on the draft Memorandum of Understanding on customs cooperation. This important document is being prepared for signing during the upcoming official visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan.
Malaysian representatives reported that the draft Memorandum is currently being reviewed by the country's relevant legal authorities and ministries. Expressing great interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries, they confirmed their readiness to provide a response on the document in the near future.
This meeting demonstrates a new momentum in mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, including efforts to improve customs regulations and facilitate trade turnover.
