President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow received Ignazio Cassis, Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, holding the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The Vice-President of Switzerland expressed sincere gratitude for the hospitality shown, emphasizing Switzerland's strong interest in strengthening fruitful relations with Turkmenistan, which pursues a policy of peace and sustainable development globally. He also praised the country's international initiatives to expand cooperation and shared his positive impressions of the architectural landscape of Ashgabat and the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone.

The Head of State thanked him for the kind words and noted that this visit is viewed as an important milestone in developing relations between Turkmenistan, the OSCE, and the Swiss Confederation.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Turkmenistan advocates for intensifying international partnerships to ensure peace and sustainable development regionally and globally. The country attaches special importance to coordinating efforts within the framework of the OSCE. The President noted the productive nature of the dialogue and the regular implementation of joint annual cooperation programs between the Government of Turkmenistan and the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. Affirming the state's commitment to ensuring human rights and democratic principles, the President stated the advisability of continuing international experience-sharing in this area.

"We have favorable conditions for developing cooperation in areas such as ensuring the secure and reliable supply of energy resources to world markets, creating conditions for sustainable economic growth, fully utilizing our transport potential, protecting the environment, and rationally using water resources," President Serdar Berdimuhamedow said, confirming Turkmenistan's readiness to expand cooperation with the OSCE.

Drawing attention to the current productive level of bilateral ties, the Head of State expressed interest in consistently developing cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields, noting readiness to consider specific proposals from the Swiss side. Taking the opportunity, he once again congratulated Ignazio Cassis and the entire people of Switzerland on the recently celebrated National Day.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the congratulations, the guest stressed that Turkmenistan's foreign policy serves as a global model and confirmed the great importance Switzerland attaches to the further development of mutual cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis expressed confidence in the continued successful development of bilateral partnership and exchanged best wishes.
