On the occasion of celebrating World Bicycle Day, declared by the United Nations General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, a solemn event was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Within the framework of the ceremony, several important documents aimed at elevating bilateral relations to new heights were signed between the relevant ministries and departments of our country and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Turkmenistan's cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies is successfully carried out on a long-term and systematic basis, rooted in bilateral agreements. With the aim of further developing mutual relations, the parties signed the following specific documents:

  • In the finance and economy sector: "Framework Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Programme on Co-financing" between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the UNDP Permanent Mission in Turkmenistan;
  • In the digital justice sector: The work plan for the year 2026 for the project document titled "Supporting the Digitalization of the Judicial System of Turkmenistan" between the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan and the UNDP Permanent Mission;
  • In education and human capital: The work plan for the years 2026-2027 for the project document titled "National System of Strategic Planning of Human Capital" between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the UNDP Permanent Mission;
  • In the healthcare sector: An agreement on introducing amendments to the project document titled "Transition of the National Tuberculosis Program of Turkmenistan from the Support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria" between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the UNDP Permanent Mission.

The newly signed documents and adopted plans aim to advance digitalization in our country, ensure economic stability, improve the education system, and successfully implement national programs in the healthcare sector.
