
A regular round of political consultations took place in Ashgabat under the leadership of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Following the talks, a number of important documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two countries were signed.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in depth the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Uzbek strategic relations. The significance of high-level mutual visits and negotiations in activating the political-diplomatic interaction of the two states was noted.
Interaction within international organizations
At the talks, special attention was paid to the issues of coordinating cooperation within the framework of international structures such as the UN, the CIS, the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and the Non-Aligned Movement. The parties confirmed their readiness to further support each other's international initiatives and to coordinate approaches on important issues of the regional agenda.
Economic and sectoral cooperation
Along with political issues, the directions of trade and economic cooperation were analyzed in detail. The parties emphasized the importance of diversifying mutual trade, expanding investment projects, and increasing the effectiveness of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission.
Also, the development of the transport and transit system, improvement of logistics infrastructure, as well as deepening cooperation in such industries as industry, agriculture, energy, and the digital economy were identified as promising areas.
Cultural and humanitarian ties
The cultural and humanitarian sphere occupies an important place in strengthening the historical ties of friendship and good-neighborliness between the two peoples. Noting the progress in education, science, healthcare, youth policy, and sports, the parties expressed interest in implementing joint cultural projects and expanding cultural exchanges.
