
A delegation of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, is participating in the World Government Summit in Dubai from February 3 to 5, 2026, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The summit brings together over 30 heads of states and governments, about 150 government delegations, as well as leaders of global companies, representatives of international financial and educational organizations — totaling around 6,000 participants.
The agenda covers global governance issues, the development of artificial intelligence technologies, climate change, and coordinated approaches to addressing economic challenges.
At the session titled “The Future of the Global Community,” Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov outlined Turkmenistan’s approach to addressing critical issues facing the international community.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan supports coordinated cooperation among states based on respect for international law, consideration of mutual interests, and leveraging each country’s potential for sustainable development.
This approach is also reflected in concrete initiatives. In particular, Turkmenistan’s proposal to declare 2028 as the “Year of International Law” was highlighted. Turkmenistan promotes responsible, predictable, and transparent multilateral cooperation.
The speech also highlighted specific tools to enhance cooperation, including effective governance, exchange of expertise, opening economic opportunities through transport connectivity, and improving energy efficiency.
