As part of the annual "Ramadan Tent" cultural and charitable project organized near the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow, a Turkmenistan Evening was held. The program included a traditional evening meal — iftar — following the completion of the daily fast. This was reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia.
The event was organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow, with the support of the Moscow government. Representatives of the Turkmen diaspora took an active part in preparing the evening with the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia.
The evening was attended by embassy staff, students studying at Russian universities, members of the Turkmen diaspora, and representatives of other Muslim peoples living in the capital.
During the festive program, speeches by invited guests were heard, and creative performances and videos dedicated to the national values of the Turkmen people were shown. Participants noted that the Turkmen people have revered the month of Ramadan as sacred since ancient times. According to centuries-old traditions, national dishes are prepared in the cities and villages of the country during these days, generous iftar tables are spread, and prayers are offered for the well-being of the country and the people.
Following the official part and the prayers, guests were served dishes of Turkmen national cuisine.
