The State Committee of Statistics of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with UNICEF, presented the results of the seventh round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS7). This survey provided the most comprehensive and reliable data on the situation of children and women in the country.
The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is a global UNICEF program designed to collect internationally comparable data on the situation of children and women based on household sampling. It helps countries monitor progress on key indicators in health, education, child protection, and well-being, and supports the development of strategies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
According to UNICEF, this survey marked an important stage in Turkmenistan’s long-term participation in the global MICS program, which has been implemented since 1995 and previously included five rounds.
MICS7 work began in 2022 and included extensive training of specialists, nationwide data collection in 2024, and analysis and reporting of the collected data in 2024–2025. This survey is the result of long-term collaboration between the State Committee of Statistics of Turkmenistan and UNICEF and has become a key source of reliable information on the situation of children and women in the country.
The data provide comprehensive insights into children’s health, nutrition, education, protection, and well-being. They serve as a basis for evidence-based decisions at national and local levels, help define priority areas of work, and strengthen systems aimed at protecting the rights and development of every child.
