In November 2026, Turkmenistan will present a national pavilion at the 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), which will take place in Antalya, Türkiye.
The pavilion will showcase the country's achievements in environmental protection, addressing climate change and implementing international environmental initiatives. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev is overseeing preparations for the national exhibition. He reported on the progress of the work at a government meeting on October 31.
Key topics at the conference will include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to the impacts of climate change and strengthening resilience to environmental threats. Discussions will also cover the implementation of the Paris Agreement, climate financing, the introduction of environmental technologies and expanded international cooperation.
COP31 is also expected to feature the new Climate Implementation Bridge initiative, designed to help developing countries turn their national climate goals into investment projects.
The international conference in Antalya will provide an important platform for presenting Turkmenistan's environmental diplomacy, experience in environmental protection and international initiatives to the global community.
