Turkmenistan's railway network has been supplied with new powerful locomotives
New three-section freight locomotives, produced by the leading Chinese company "CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd.", have been delivered to Turkmenistan's railway sector. A solemn welcoming ceremony for the new equipment was held at the Ashgabat railway station. This was reported by the "Watan" news program.
Technical characteristics of the locomotives: The new three-section locomotives allow for a significant increase in the country's freight capacity. The technical specifications are as follows:
- Power: The traction capacity of the new three-section locomotives is 6,300 tons.
- Speed: These units, each section of which consists of six wheel pairs, are capable of moving at speeds of up to 100 km/h.
- Equipment: The locomotives are equipped with a modern and specialized control system.
Within the framework of cooperation between "Demirýollary" OJSC and the Chinese company, not only the purchase of new equipment is envisaged, but also the improvement of existing railway technology. Specifically, in accordance with the contracts, major repairs were carried out on two-section freight locomotives in Turkmenistan. These locomotives, with a traction capacity of 4,200 tons, have also been technically updated and continue to serve.
The arrival of this new equipment will make a major contribution to increasing the country's transit-logistics capabilities, transporting goods in a timely and high-quality manner, and modernizing the material and technical infrastructure of the railway sector.
