The Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit to attend the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation and to hold bilateral meetings.

According to Turkish media reports, the distinguished guest was warmly welcomed at the Ashgabat International Airport by the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Nazar Agahanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok, and other official figures.

Following his arrival in Ashgabat, on the first day of his visit, the Vice President of Türkiye visited the Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque in Gypjak. Here, Cevdet Yılmaz presented the holy book Quran, sent on behalf of the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as a gift to the imam of the mosque.

The official delegation led by the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, includes several high-ranking officials responsible for the strategic sectors of cooperation between the two countries. The delegation consists of:

  • Haluk İpek — Chairman of the Türkiye-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, MP of the AK Party for Amasya;
  • Ahmet Berat Çonkar — Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources;
  • Muhammet Bilal Macit — Deputy Minister of National Education;
  • Çetin Ali Dönmez — Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology;
  • Özgür Volkan Ağar — Deputy Minister of Trade;
  • Durmuş Ünüvar — Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.

The 9th meeting of the intergovernmental commission and the high-level meetings to be held within the scope of the official visit are aimed at elevating the brotherly Turkmen-Turkish relations, as well as economic, trade, and energy cooperation, to new heights.
