President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has congratulated Tanya Mushegovna Awakowa, a WWII home front veteran living in Ashgabat, on her 98th birthday. The press service of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan reported that diplomats visited Awakowa's residence on July 29 to deliver the official letter from the Russian head of state.

During the war years, Tanya Awakowa worked diligently at a light industry facility in Ashgabat, producing military uniforms and clothing for service members at the front. Russian diplomatic representatives congratulated the veteran, wishing her good health, peace, and long life.
