In Turkmenistan, the “Water Code” regulates the efficient use of water resources and aims to increase the productivity of irrigated lands, which is essential for balanced agricultural development. In recent years, water-saving technologies have been implemented, new reservoirs have been built, and existing ones expanded.
Drip irrigation is widely used for orchards and crops, providing consistent moisture to plant roots, helping cultivate fertile lands, and maintaining soil cleanliness. The major hydro-technical facility “Altyn Asyr” enhances regional water supply and ecological well-being. Turkmenistan promotes rational water use and international cooperation to ensure sustainable agriculture and the stability of the national economy.
