Yerevan 2026: Turkmen Sambo Wrestlers Secure 3 Medals on Day One of the World Cup!

Organized by the International Sambo Federation (FIAS), the Sambo World Cup has brought together the world’s strongest sambo practitioners. The national team of Turkmenistan showcased outstanding results on the very first day of the tournament.

In the Women’s Combat Sambo discipline, our athletes displayed top-tier skill in decisive bouts. Kurbanay Kurbanowa (50 kg) and Zyba Orunowa (65 kg) reached the finals in their respective weight categories, ultimately claiming silver medals after hard-fought matches. In the Men’s Sport Sambo category, Atanyýaz Amangeldiýew (88 kg) successfully secured a bronze medal for the team.
