
The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) international tournament, held from April 11 to 17 in Fergana, Uzbekistan, concluded with another victory for Turkmen sports. Sulgun Ishangulyyeva, an athlete from the "Jahan" creative center, worthily represented Turkmenistan in this competition organized for athletes under 14.
Sulgun Ishangulyyeva managed to win the top prize of the tournament in the doubles category. Showing high skill alongside Alima Hamitova from Kazakhstan, she emerged victorious in a tense final match and added a gold medal to Turkmenistan's sports treasury.
The athlete displayed a consistent performance not only in doubles but also in singles competitions. By outperforming her opponents, she reached the semi-final stage. These achievements earned Sulgun and the Turkmenistan national team important points in the Asian Tennis Federation rankings.
Sulgun emphasized that the great efforts of the head coach of the Turkmenistan national team, Yuriy Rogusskiy, and coach Amir Bashimov played a significant role in this major victory.
Sulgun Ishangulyyeva, who has achieved several international successes since the beginning of 2026, is currently recognized as one of the most talented and promising young tennis players in our country.
