World champion as a player and three-time Champions League winner as a head coach, Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the head coach of the French national football team. This was announced by Philippe Diallo, President of the French Football Federation.

  • Contract Duration: The agreement between the parties is intended until the end of the 2030 World Cup.

  • New Position: The 54-year-old specialist replaced Didier Deschamps, who had led the national team for 14 years in this prestigious role.

  • Coaching Achievements: During his tenure coaching Spain's «Real» club (2016–2018 and 2019–2021), Zidane won the Champions League three times, and twice secured the Spanish Championship and Super Cup.

  • Playing Career: Having successfully played for «Cannes», «Bordeaux», «Juventus», and «Real» in his time, Zidane made 108 appearances for the French national team, scoring 31 goals and providing 29 assists. He became a World Champion in 1998 and a European Champion in 2000.
