Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi officially expressed his gratitude to Turkmenistan for the assistance provided in the return of Iranian citizens to their homeland and for humanitarian support. The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported this on his official Telegram page.
According to Araghchi, during a period when many Iranians abroad faced difficulties returning home, Turkmenistan, along with several other states — Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan — actively supported their return to the country.
Furthermore, the Minister specifically highlighted the contribution of partner states in providing humanitarian aid, including the supply of medicines and food products. "We welcomed any country wishing to help, not only because of the need for assistance but as a sign of solidarity with the Iranian people," Araghchi noted.
Earlier, on March 23, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart. During the talk, the parties discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation and exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Nowruz holiday. Also, during the negotiations, the Iranian side thanked Turkmenistan for the humanitarian aid sent to the children of Iran by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation, emphasizing the significance of the humanitarian dimension in the relations between the two countries.
