Inter-parliamentary dialogue: Legislative foundations for promoting gender equality discussed in Ashgabat

Today, a conference titled "Promoting Gender Equality: Inter-parliamentary Dialogue on Strengthening the Legislative Framework for Gender Equality and Combating Gender-Based Violence," jointly organized by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), began its work in Ashgabat.

During the conference, parliamentarians will exchange views on implementing state policy to promote gender equality, preventing and combating gender-based violence, reflecting universally recognized norms of international law in national legislation, and the development and implementation of gender-sensitive inclusive laws, social protection, and accountability systems.
