Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Attend the World Urban Forum in Baku

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, will attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026. This was reported by the "Trend" agency on Monday, citing statements by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, Gurbanmammet Elyasov.

As noted in the report, during this forum, Turkmenistan will introduce participants to the country's achievements, prepared projects, and plans for the future. Additionally, an exhibition held within the framework of the forum will showcase the experience of urban planning initiatives implemented in Ashgabat, as well as the "smart" city project of Arkadag.

Furthermore, Turkmenistan aims to present its results and future plans for urban construction and sustainable urbanization at the forum venue. On the forum's agenda, Turkmenistan will demonstrate its experience in urban development based on a combination of state strategy, social focus, and the implementation of modern technologies.

The World Urban Forum is held within the framework of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and will bring together international experts, architects, and state delegations from various countries. This event will be a significant step in advancing the global sustainable urban development agenda and strengthening international cooperation in modern urban planning.
