
Magtymguly district, one of the most beautiful corners of Turkmenistan, is distinguished by its unique nature and subtropical climate. Thanks to the dedication of local residents, exotic plants from various parts of the world are being adapted here. One such example is the Washingtonia palm, grown by Mammetgeldi Hudayberdiyev, a resident of Ak village in the Chendir rural council.
In addition to working at the local secondary school No. 15, Mammetgeldi Hudayberdiyev spends his spare time gardening. This rare palm, nurtured by him and his family, has been adding beauty to the area for nearly 20 years. Planted in 2006, the tree has fully adapted to the regional climate and stands tall today.
