International digital payment services Apple Pay and Google Pay have been launched in Uzbekistan. This was announced by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.

The launch of these new services marks an important step in the country’s integration into the international digital payment system. The platforms allow users to make contactless payments for goods and services using their smartphones.

Earlier, during a meeting with Google Vice President Karan Bhatia, Saida Mirziyoyeva discussed the legal and technological conditions needed to introduce international payment services.

The launch of Apple Pay and Google Pay will make everyday transactions more convenient for residents of Uzbekistan and foreign visitors. The services are also expected to help expand the use of cashless payments and develop the country’s digital payment infrastructure.

The availability of international payment systems further strengthens Uzbekistan’s opportunities to develop its digital economy and expand cooperation with global technology service providers.
