
A delegation from Turkmenistan is participating in the 64th sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC SB64), taking place in Bonn, Germany. This international forum, held from June 8 to June 16, focuses on the country's environmental protection policies and the initiatives it proposes to ensure ecological security.
Commitment to International Obligations
During the forum, the Turkmen delegation reported on the implementation of commitments under the Paris Agreement. The Turkmen side presented its vision for national approaches to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy efficiency, implementing eco-friendly technologies, and developing renewable energy sources.
Importance of Regional Cooperation
At the conference, special attention was given to Turkmenistan’s initiative to establish a Regional Climate Technology Center for Central Asia. The delegation briefed forum participants on the ongoing preparatory work to launch this center and reaffirmed its readiness to foster regional cooperation and implement joint environmental projects.
