As part of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany, German doctors and professors are currently visiting Turkmenistan on a working trip. They are exchanging expertise with their Turkmen colleagues in cardiology and cardiac surgery. The news was reported by the newspaper Turkmenistan.
The specialists are working together to introduce modern medical methods for preventing cardiovascular diseases, diagnosing them at an early stage, treating patients, and providing rehabilitation.
During the visit, German doctors will examine patients and provide consultations. Heart surgeries are also planned to be performed jointly with Turkmen doctors.
Professor Jürgen Höerer, a cardiologist and director of the university clinic for congenital heart defects and pediatric cardiac surgery in Munich, noted that congenital heart defects are among the conditions found in children. According to him, some cases require surgical treatment, and timely operations are particularly important for newborns.
Professor Höerer said that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany in cardiology and cardiac surgery continues to expand, with German specialists regularly performing operations alongside their Turkmen colleagues. He emphasized that some congenital heart defects can be treated using relatively simple surgical techniques, while others require complex operations that may involve higher risks.
International professional cooperation helps doctors enhance their skills, gain experience with modern treatment methods, and improve the quality of medical care provided to patients with heart conditions.
