In the village of Isbaz in Danev district of Lebap province, Alymerdan Yusupov has been achieving high production indicators for over thirty years. During his 31-year career in agriculture, he has never failed to meet his contractual obligations and annually exceeds the plan for cotton and wheat yields.
Starting his career as a tenant farmer in the "Dostluk" farmers' association, Alymerdan switched to individual farming a few years ago and established his own farm. He manages a total of 4 hectares of land: growing cotton on 3 hectares and wheat on 1 hectare. According to the cotton receiving enterprise, last year the farmer collected 22 tons 867 kilograms of cotton, bringing the yield to more than 76 centners per hectare. This became his personal record.
Alymerdan Yusupov also demonstrates consistently high indicators in grain production. In various years, the wheat yield in his fields reached from 75 to 105 centners per hectare. For his special services in the development of agriculture, the state awarded him a universal tractor. This made it possible to fully mechanize the main agrotechnical measures.
The farmer sees the secret of success in the strict observance of soil treatment technologies, active use of organic and mineral fertilizers, frequent inter-row cultivation, and timely topping of cotton plants. He performs the bulk of the work, such as plowing, cultivation, and crop care himself, while his family assists him during the harvest season.
In addition to the main crops, the farmer practices catch cropping by growing vegetables and melons, which allows for additional income and efficient use of the land. He directs the funds earned to upgrading equipment and expanding the material base of the farm.
Alymerdan Yusupov's experience clearly demonstrates that the combination of hard work, professional knowledge, and a rational approach to farming leads to sustainable results and makes a significant contribution to the development of the country's agricultural sector.
