Preparations for cotton sowing are underway in Lebap region

In the region, plowing of the fields for cotton has entered its final stage. Leveling works have been completed on more than half of the 130,000 hectares of land, and furrowing has been finished on nearly 100,000 hectares. This was reported in the "Türkmen gündogary" newspaper.

As noted in the report, farmers in the Sayat district are showing the most activity in leveling the plowed lands. They have fully completed leveling works on nearly 13,000 hectares out of 16,563 hectares. Farmers in the Farap and Charjew districts are also among the leaders. More than 150 units of powerful machinery are being used for land leveling across the region.

The area where furrows have been cut on plowed and leveled lands in the region has reached nearly 100,000 hectares. This work is completely finished in the Koytendag district. Furrowing is also in its final stage in the Kerki and Sayat districts.

Along with agrotechnical measures, pre-sowing fertilization of the cotton fields is being carried out in the region. This year, it is planned to apply 5,850 tons of potassium and 26,800 tons of phosphorus fertilizers; the districts were provided with the necessary amount of fertilizer on time. To date, the application of phosphorus fertilizers has been fully completed in the region, while potassium fertilization continues in its final stage.
