
Yesterday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system, where priority areas of state life were reviewed and a number of important decisions were adopted.
Chairwoman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova reported on the work being carried out to improve the legislative framework of the country, including amendments and additions planned to be introduced to national codes and laws. Information was also provided on events held in cooperation with UN agencies operating in the country. The Head of State emphasized the need to continue the development of new draft laws that meet modern requirements.
The reports of government members widely covered measures aimed at developing various sectors of the economy. In particular, the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Slovak group for economic cooperation and preparations for its first meeting, cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as the progress of seasonal agricultural work were discussed. The President instructed to ensure the grain harvest is organized at a high level and to strengthen supervision over the care of cotton fields.
Proposals were presented at the meeting on strengthening the material and technical base of the industrial, construction, and textile sectors, ensuring uninterrupted production, and increasing the volume of competitive goods. The Head of State approved these proposals and signed the relevant documents.
Preparation for the Culture Week also became an important part of the meeting's agenda. Instructions were given to organize this festive event, which will be held in the Balkan velayat from June 22 to 27, at a high level.
Furthermore, on the occasion of Science Day, which is widely celebrated in the country, the "State Program for the Promotion of Scientific, Technical and Technological Achievements in Turkmenistan for 2026–2030" was approved.
Touching upon foreign policy issues, a report was heard on preparations for the upcoming official visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan. It was noted that this visit would help bring relations between the two friendly countries to a qualitatively new level.
A number of important decisions were also adopted at the meeting on improving the transport and communication system. Concluding the meeting, the President congratulated the people on Science Day and wished them success in their work for the further prosperity of the country.
