
Yesterday, the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, who arrived in our country on a visit.
The guest expressed his sincere gratitude for the opportunity to meet and noted that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the development of relations with Turkmenistan. Taking this opportunity, he conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to our Head of State and the Hero Arkadag.
The esteemed President expressed his best wishes to the Head of Uzbekistan and noted that the guest's visit would open up new opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmen-Uzbek relations are characterized by a high level of trust and mutual respect. This solid foundation makes it possible to coordinate efforts to consistently strengthen the strategic partnership. Our countries cooperate effectively within the framework of international organizations such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Economic Cooperation Organization. A clear example of this is the mutual support for initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.
The esteemed President noted the successful cooperation within regional structures, particularly the "Central Asia +" format, stressing that these structures serve as an effective platform for deepening dialogue and developing multilateral economic cooperation. He also expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for its consistent support of Turkmenistan's foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality.
During Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" will host the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, as well as a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, Arkadagly Serdar emphasized that these events will serve to strengthen regional cooperation, mutual trust, and good-neighborliness, and will give an impetus to the development of the Turkmen-Uzbek strategic partnership.
Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the comprehensive development of relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan. Traditionally, trade and economic relations, as well as strategic sectors such as energy, transport, and logistics, are the main areas of cooperation. The work of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation plays a special role in coordinating efforts in this direction.
The cultural and humanitarian sphere is an integral part of the interstate dialogue. Our peoples are connected by centuries-old bonds of friendship, brotherhood, good-neighborliness, and a community of cultural and spiritual values. In this regard, the Head of State drew attention to the importance of further developing this cooperation through holding various cultural events.
At the end of the meeting, the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed that Turkmenistan highly values its relations with Uzbekistan and aims to further develop effective cooperation for the benefit of the fraternal peoples of the two countries, wishing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, good health, prosperity, and success in his work.
