An interactive meeting aimed at sustainable development goals was held at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan with the participation of students from our country. This event was implemented within the framework of a series of educational activities specially organized for youth under the title "Youth and Digital Transformation: Innovations for Sustainable Development".
This meeting, organized by the country office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, was dedicated to the role of digital innovations in vital areas such as climate change, efficient management of land and water resources, and the conservation of biodiversity.
During the training session, local experts and specialists from the Aral Sea region project, which is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), delivered presentations. They introduced practical methods of utilizing innovative and digital technologies in monitoring biodiversity, managing specially protected natural areas, and implementing ecological projects. Furthermore, the youth were provided with comprehensive information regarding new professional opportunities arising in the field of sustainable development.
Students demonstrated great activity during the event, which took place in a question-and-answer and open discussion format. The youth exchanged ideas on the positive impacts of digital solutions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly on ecological sustainability and economic growth.
Through such modern initiatives, UNDP aims to expand the capabilities of Turkmen youth, develop their digital skills, and inspire them to propose innovative ideas to build a more sustainable future.
