In Turkmenistan, the successful development of greenhouse farms ensures market abundance and a constant supply of fresh vegetables and fruits throughout the year. Private entrepreneurs and local farmers achieve high results and make a valuable contribution.
Owluyaguly Kuvvatov, a resident of Chaltut village in Saýat district, has been cultivating lemon trees in greenhouses for 15 years. Initially growing tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, he later specialized in lemons. Today, he is recognized as an expert in lemon cultivation and shares his knowledge with young farmers.
His farm has three greenhouses: the first and second produce fruits, while the third grows lemon seedlings. Each tree yields approximately 400–450 fruits. Care includes regular watering, mineral and organic fertilization, and pruning.
The “Meyer” lemon grown in his farm is highly nutritious, has medicinal properties, boosts immunity, and helps prevent seasonal illnesses. Owluyaguly Kuvvatov expresses gratitude to the President and Government for supporting farmers and developing agriculture.
