The Dashoguz region has enthusiastically and in an organized manner commenced the sowing of winter wheat. To carry out this crucial season within the established deadlines and with high quality, the necessary agricultural machinery, seed stock, and other related preparatory works were completed in advance.
The main part of the future harvest will consist of wheat varieties «Alekseevich» and «Bezostaya-100», which have proven themselves well in local soil and climatic conditions. These mid-ripening varieties are distinguished by high yield, frost resistance, and drought tolerance. In addition, they are resistant to lodging and excessive root moisture, and possess high baking qualities.
The largest wheat sowing in the region is planned to be carried out in the Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy etrap of Dashoguz region. As one of the major grain producers in the region, this etrap has allocated 30 thousand hectares of land for this crop. In the first days of the sowing season, high-quality seeds have already been planted on an area of nearly 4 thousand hectares.
The region's farmers aim to effectively utilize all opportunities to conduct wheat sowing at a high level and complete it within the set deadlines.
The Dashoguz region is among the major grain-growing regions of Turkmenistan. A unified production chain has been created here, covering all stages from seed preparation to sowing, harvesting, storage, and processing.
Thanks to state investments, modern production facilities for storing and processing agricultural products that meet international standards have been established in the region. These opportunities contribute to the further development of grain farming in the region.
