A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to discuss modernizing the education system, implementing "green skills," and developing regional cooperation. These relations, carried out within the framework of the CAREC program, have become a clear expression of Turkmenistan's commitment to sustainable development goals.
Key Highlights of the Meeting:
- Transition to an Eco-friendly Economy: The importance of developing new professional skills in vocational and higher education was emphasized to transition toward an ecologically sustainable economy.
- Institutional Capacity: These efforts aim to strengthen national capacities, fulfill commitments under the Paris Agreement, and train technological specialists with "green skills" for various sectors.
- Involvement of the Private Sector: The importance of active participation by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan was noted.
- Agricultural Innovation: The positive experience of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov in preparing academic courses on green technologies for agriculture was highlighted.
Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev introduced the digital platforms currently being implemented, noting that these efforts align with initiatives to establish a regional center for climate technologies in Central Asia. ADB representatives proposed expanding cooperation through international certification for teachers and specialists, as well as training international-level experts for the tourism industry.
