In line with the principles of permanent neutrality, Turkmenistan places special emphasis on international cooperation based on peace, equality, and mutual respect. Under the leadership of the President, comprehensive measures are being implemented to develop human capital, modernize the education system, and integrate advanced international experience into national practice.
In this context, collaboration with leading foreign educational centers serves as an important tool to strengthen university management capacities and to develop a modern teacher training system.
Representatives of Turkmenistan’s education system are participating in professional development courses for university leadership from Central Asia, held in Cambridge, UK & Northern Ireland from 25–31 January 2026.
The courses are conducted within the framework of the Central Asia English Language Learning Quality Project (AELLCA Phase II), in cooperation with the Publishing and Assessment Department of Cambridge University, based on the PRESETT Leadership Skills Development program.
The main objectives of the program are: to enhance leadership and management skills within PRESETT, explore advanced and innovative methods of teaching English, study international experience in teacher training, broaden knowledge of curriculum design and assessment, learn to use digital technologies and modern teaching materials, and examine opportunities to apply the gained experience in Turkmenistan’s education system.
On 26 January, the opening ceremony was held along with the first class “Leading Changes in English Language Teaching within PRESETT,” where participants discussed planning educational reforms and monitoring their implementation. They learned about curriculum modernization and English language integration practices, and identified initiatives to address existing challenges in their institutions.
The courses are currently ongoing according to the program.
