Trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan marked a notable growth in 2025, reflecting a deepening economic cooperation between the two Central Asian neighbors. According to Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee, bilateral trade reached $1.2037 billion, up $54 million compared to 2024, when total trade stood at $1.1497 billion.
Turkmenistan emerged as a significant trade partner, ranking eighth in Uzbekistan’s import structure. Last year, Turkmen exports to the Uzbek market totaled $1.0522 billion, highlighting the strategic role of Turkmen goods in the region.
Economists say the increase underscores growing demand for Turkmen products in Uzbekistan and points to stronger economic ties that may pave the way for joint projects and investment opportunities in the coming years.
Trade experts also note that the upward trend reflects both countries’ efforts to diversify their trade portfolios and strengthen regional cooperation, a priority for the governments as they work toward economic stability and growth.
“The data clearly shows that Turkmen-Uzbek trade is not only resilient but expanding,” said a regional trade analyst. “This is a positive signal for Central Asia’s broader economic integration.”
As both nations look toward future collaboration, 2025’s figures are seen as a benchmark for what could become a more integrated and dynamic economic partnership.
