
On January 27, 2026, an event dedicated to the World Day of the Turkic Language Family was held at the Yunus Emre Institute.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan, as well as professors and lecturers from higher education institutions.
It was noted that UNESCO’s designation of December 15 as the World Day of the Turkic Language Family is an important step aimed at preserving intangible cultural heritage and supporting linguistic diversity worldwide.
Addressing the participants, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia, D. Seyitmammedov, emphasized that Turkic languages are not merely a means of communication but also a living bridge that preserves the historical philosophy of generations and the poetry of peoples, enriching the spiritual development of humanity. He also highlighted that the World Day of the Turkic Language Family would contribute to large-scale academic research, the preservation of Turkic languages, and the development of global dialogue aimed at fostering closer cultural ties and mutual understanding.
