WhatsApp introduces an updated “Info” section
The developers of WhatsApp have unveiled an updated version of the “Info” section, which is now more visible and user-friendly. It has been moved to the top of personal chats and user profiles.
Through this renewed section, users can share short messages and emojis to quickly inform others about their status or availability. It is also possible to reply directly to someone’s “Info” by tapping the corresponding notification.
According to the developers:
“In a world where everything changes every second, the new ‘Info’ section helps others understand why you’re unavailable or what you want to talk about — just one emoji and a short phrase are enough.”
By default, the status remains visible for 24 hours, but users can adjust this duration in the settings. Expanded privacy options are also available: a user can choose who will see the information — only contacts or all users.
The rollout of the new feature will begin this week on mobile devices and will become available to all users.
