Apple Prepares Its First Foldable iPhone: Four Cameras and Touch ID in the 2026 Model
Tech giant Apple plans to release its first foldable smartphone, expected to hit the market in 2026, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.

The new foldable iPhone will feature four cameras: two rear cameras, one front camera, and one inner camera. This setup will allow users to capture high-quality photos and videos from multiple angles. Instead of the usual Face ID, the device will have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner for fast and reliable access.
Regarding the design, sources differ. Gurman says the phone will fold like a book, similar to Samsung’s foldable models. However, other sources like The Information suggest it will have a clamshell design, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
The phone will be equipped with Apple’s own C2 cellular modem, which is comparable in performance to Qualcomm’s latest modems. This modem is also expected to be used in upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models.
The device will not have a physical SIM card slot, continuing Apple’s transition to eSIM technology. Currently, two color options are being tested: black and white.
Previously, sources from Wall Street Journal and The Information also reported on Apple’s plans to launch a foldable iPhone in 2026, highlighting the company’s serious intentions to enter the foldable smartphone market.
The new Apple model has generated significant interest in the tech community and promises to expand smartphone capabilities with innovative cameras and a convenient Touch ID authentication system.
