Wheat Planting Expands Widely in Kerki District
These days, the autumn wheat sowing campaign is progressing rapidly across all parts of the province. The hardworking farmers of Kerki district are also continuing their work in an organized manner, aiming to make a worthy contribution to the national grain production plan.
In this regard, the grain growers of the “Mürzebeggala” farmers’ association stand out in particular. In the Year of International Peace and Trust, they plan to sow wheat of the “Alekseiç” variety on 1,850 hectares and deliver 3,050 tons of high-quality grain — exceeding the planned target of 3,020 tons.
Currently, six types of agricultural machinery are operating smoothly in the association’s fields. The mechanized planting is being carried out in two stages. So far, more than 1,200 hectares have been planted in accordance with agrotechnical requirements, and on more than 800 hectares, excellent germination has already been achieved.
Experienced machine operators Serdar Mätiyew and Begenç Jumanazarow have distinguished themselves this season with their high productivity. Every day, they successfully sow 20–25 hectares with high quality.
This year, various farming teams of the association are also actively participating in the campaign:
-
Team 1 (led by Mekan Işangulyýew) is planting 250 hectares,
-
Team 4 (led by Yusup Döwekow) – 220 hectares,
-
Team 6 (led by Rüstem Begnazarow) – 230 hectares.
They aim to achieve yields of 35–40 quintals (centners) per hectare.
Skilled tenant farmers Maral Soltanowa, Gudrat Saparow, Laçyn Rejebowa, and Enar Gurbanowa are targeting even higher yields of 45–50 quintals per hectare. They completed sowing early and have already achieved strong crop germination in their fields.
The association’s agronomist, Eýýämberdi Janykow, stated:
“This year’s autumn has been very favorable for grain growers. We approached the wheat sowing season fully prepared. We plowed the fields to the appropriate depth and applied 200 kilograms of superphosphate per hectare. We also enriched the soil with local fertilizers. We have already begun maintenance work, and the young green sprouts are beautifying our fields.”
The work being carried out by the diligent farmers of the “Mürzebeggala” association in Kerki district makes a valuable contribution to ensuring the country’s food security and the development of the agricultural sector.
