During these hardworking autumn days, the farmers of our region aim to harvest the rich yield of cultivated vegetables and melons without loss and in the shortest time possible. This work is particularly well-organized in the Charjew district.

Currently, alongside other vegetables, preparations are underway in local farming associations to harvest a plentiful crop of carrots. In the fields of the 6th group of tenants of the “Watan” farmers' association, intercropping was used to enrich the soil’s fertility, which has resulted in a productive harvest.

Experienced farmers say that intercropping improves the structure and mineral composition of the soil. After wheat harvesting in June, farmers planted carrots and are now reaping successful yields. Among them is Hemrakuly Gahrymanov, a respected and skilled farmer.

Last year, his family managed to harvest 42 centners of produce from just 1.5 hectares. The current year also promises strong results in cotton production. Cotton harvesting is in full swing, and in 2024 the family harvested 53 centners of grain from 1 hectare.

Their hard work also includes silkworm cultivation, contributing to the country’s silk industry annually.

— “From our 5-hectare farmland, we’ve achieved high carrot yields just like in previous years,” says master farmer Gahryman Hemrayev, with over 30 years of experience.

Hemrakuly has been hardworking since youth, and many now come to him for advice. The golden morning sun across fertile fields symbolizes the fruits of his dedication.

— “Any crop requires serious labor to get a good harvest. Carrots are no exception. Early and late varieties are cultivated; the early types grow well once the soil warms,” he explains.

These carrot fields were planted after the wheat harvest. “We hope to harvest 35–40 tons per hectare,” he added.

Proud of his contribution to national food abundance, Hemrakuly Gahrymanov expresses gratitude to our Hero-Arkadag — the nation's leader who ensures the prosperity of rural families.
