Musk Reveals New Details About the Tesla Roadster
Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on October 31. Although Tesla wasn’t a major topic during the three-hour discussion, when Rogan asked about the new Roadster, Musk confirmed that its debut is approaching and Tesla is close to showcasing the updated model.
For years, Tesla has teased the public with Roadster announcements, constantly delaying its release to push the boundaries of what’s technologically possible. Earlier this year, the company promised to hold “the most epic show ever” for the Roadster, demonstrating both previously known and completely new features. Yet no one knows exactly what to expect.
“I think this event has every chance to be the most memorable product announcement in history. [The presentation will be] hopefully by the end of the year. You see, we have to make sure everything works. This car has absolutely insane technology. Let me put it this way: if you combined all the James Bond cars together, our concept is crazier than that,” Musk said.
The CEO confirmed that Tesla still plans to hold the Roadster demonstration before the end of the year.
Musk previously mentioned that the new generation of the Tesla Roadster would accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than one second, feature compressed-air thrusters, small wings, and a yoke steering wheel similar to that of a jet aircraft.
