Bassem Tadros: Turkmenistan is one of the world’s most promising energy hubs

At the opening ceremony of ADNOC’s (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) office in Ashgabat, the head of the company’s representative office, Bassem Tadros, emphasized that the UAE and Turkmenistan are united by relations built on trust, respect, and a shared vision regarding energy security and sustainable development.

He noted that the two countries are steadily deepening political, economic, and investment cooperation, with the energy sector becoming one of the key pillars of their partnership.

“Turkmenistan is a country with world-class natural gas reserves, a strategically advantageous location between East and West, and a long-standing history in the energy sector. Not only due to its vast resources, but also thanks to the stability, clear goals, and forward-looking strategy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan today stands among the most promising energy centers of the world. The country’s potential in ensuring regional energy security, diversifying export routes, and strengthening its position in the global gas market is highly significant and continues to grow,” he stated.

Bassem Tadros added that combining Turkmenistan’s potential with ADNOC’s technical capabilities will form an effective strategy for global development.

“This is only the beginning. We are actively exploring additional opportunities for development, investment, and support of the country's energy future. Opening the office is a natural step on this path. It allows us to deepen our cooperation, especially within ‘Block 1’, and contribute to building local capacity. Most importantly, it reflects our confidence in Turkmenistan’s future and our commitment to contributing substantially to its development,” Tadros concluded.
