Cement production is rapidly increasing

Cement, one of the most essential materials in construction, has been in use for over a century since the introduction of modern technology. Before that, various resources were used in construction, but for more than 100 years cement has remained indispensable.

For 12 years now, cement has been one of the main products of our region supplied to the world market. The Lebap Cement Plant, opened in 2013 and expanded with its second phase last year, has been producing more than 1 million tons annually for several years.

Globally, over 4 billion tons of cement are used every year. Its trade turnover exceeds 12.5 billion USD. These figures demonstrate how important cement is in our daily lives.

Our Heroic Leader emphasizes:
“Building and creating is the foundation of the Revival Era of a new, strong state. Major innovative projects are being implemented in construction and industry to significantly improve living conditions. The transformed appearance of our cities and villages is a clear indicator of our economic progress.”

The first “smart city” in our country is an example of technological and economic advancement — new buildings continue to appear there. Likewise, in our region, numerous construction projects are ongoing. Cement is the primary material required for all of them.

The cement factories located at the foothills of Koytendag, Kopetdag, and Great Balkan produce over 3 million tons annually. In the near future, this figure may reach 4–4.5 million tons. Part of the output meets domestic demand, while the rest is exported.

The Lebap Cement Plant plays a major role, producing one-third of the nation's cement. Since the beginning of the Year of International Peace and Trust, output has already exceeded previous years.

In 2023, the plant produced 1.1 million tons; last year, 1.18 million tons. In the first 11 months of this year, 1,386,000 tons were produced — the highest figure in the plant’s 12-year history.

Compared to the same period last year (1,030,000 tons), production increased by over 350,000 tons — more than 34%.

The plant currently has the potential to produce up to 2 million tons annually — nearly half of the national output. With its strong capacity, the industry is expected to reach this level soon.

Located at the foothills of the country’s tallest mountains, the factory symbolizes long-term vision and work that will serve many generations to come.
