Bayern Munich advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, defeating Brazilian side Flamengo 4–2. Harry Kane played a key role in the victory, scoring twice.

A thrilling match and poor defending
The game took place on June 29 and quickly showed the difference in class. By the 10th minute, Bayern led 2–0: an own goal by Pulgar after a Kimmich cross and a Kane finish following an Upamecano interception.

Despite defensive issues, Flamengo didn’t give up. Gerson, who is rumored to be joining Zenit, pulled one back with a powerful shot under the crossbar. But a clearance error by Araujo led to Goretzka’s goal — 3–1.

In the second half, tension returned after a successful penalty by Gerson. However, another defensive mistake — Araujo dribbling near his own box — allowed Kane to score his second and seal the result.
