DAY OF WORKERS OF THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY AND GEOLOGY

In the auspicious days following the glorious 30th anniversary of our Permanent Neutrality, our Motherland is celebrating yet another festive occasion. In particular, on December 14, the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology is widely celebrated across the country. Representatives of sectoral institutions and enterprises operating in our velayat also marked their professional holiday with notable labor achievements.

The ancient land of Lebap is one of the richest regions of Turkmenistan in terms of “blue fuel” resources. Every year, billions of cubic meters of natural gas are extracted in the velayat and supplied both for domestic consumption and to international markets. The Seydi Oil Refinery is one of the country’s major specialized enterprises in this field. Geologists working in the eastern region conduct effective exploration activities year after year, discovering major sources of underground natural wealth.

Overall, the dedicated and diligent work of specialists in this sector makes a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the national economy. This year, the volume of “blue fuel” extracted from beneath the soil of the velayat approached 21 billion cubic meters. In addition, since the beginning of the year, oil and gas workers of the eastern region have produced more than 440 thousand tons of crude oil and gas condensate. During the year, gas workers of the eastern region exported over 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Significant labor achievements are also recorded annually in the field of oil refining and the production of various petroleum products in the velayat. This year as well, industry workers welcomed their professional holiday with worthy production results. In particular, the volume of refined oil exceeded 510 thousand tons, diesel fuel production surpassed 120 thousand tons, petroleum bitumen output exceeded 22 thousand tons, and gasoline production amounted to more than 230 thousand tons. Compared with the corresponding period of last year, these indicators demonstrated growth rates ranging from 5 to 19 percent. Moreover, this year more than 43 thousand tons of liquefied gas were produced in the velayat, ensuring a growth rate of 9 percent.

In the velayat, effective work is being carried out not only to increase the production of “blue fuel” but also to supply natural gas to newly established settlements. This year, the “Lebapgazüpjünçilik” Directorate laid a total of 42.4 kilometers of gas pipelines to new settlements, of which more than 30.8 kilometers were built in rural areas and over 11.6 kilometers in cities and towns.

Throughout the year, geologists of the eastern region reported the discovery of new gas and fresh water fields. These resources have already been put into industrial operation, providing substantial output. At the same time, it should be emphasized that the material and social conditions of workers in the oil and gas industry and geology are being consistently improved. Recently, more than ten new buses from the People’s Republic of China were delivered for employees of the “Lebapgazçykaryş” Directorate. These modern vehicles are used to transport workers to production sites and residential areas.

The Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology, coinciding with the glorious 30th anniversary of our Permanent Neutrality, is a clear symbol of the high respect accorded in our state to the dedicated labor of representatives of this sector. Oil and gas workers and geologists, working under the most modern conditions, express their sincere gratitude to Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the wide opportunities created for productive and efficient work.
